Saturday, June 8 - Douglas County Park Tour
8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Hampton Inn Castle Rock Lobby, bus departs at 8:00 am.

Lunch, drinking water and snacks will be provided.

  1. Highland Heritage Regional Park
    This developed sports complex serves a wide variety of users including the parks and trails administrative office. We will visit the newest synthetic turf fields which include the same LED field lighting system used by major league baseball. 
  2. East West Regional Trail
    Tour the final phase of a 30-mile regional trail that when completed will connect the Denver Metro Area to the city of Durango over 350 miles away.
  3. Fairgrounds Regional Park
    This 37-acre regional park is a portion of the 115 acre Douglas County Fairgrounds complex, which includes an irrigated dog off-leash area. 
  4. Cookout lunch - at Sandstone Ranch
  5. Sandstone Ranch
    With its spectacular views, expansive hay meadows, red rock formations, wildlife habitat, historic ranching operation, and 3.5 miles of common boundary with Pike National Forest, Sandstone Ranch is the crown jewel of the County’s Open Space properties.
