How do I become a NACPRO Board Member?

Board members contribute time and effort in working with the Executive Director to carry out the programs and business of the association. Board members actively participate in committees to evaluate and select annual award recipients, develop the legislative agenda, create the annual meeting program, and serve as liaisons to the National Recreation and Park Association, Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies, and the National Association of Counties. 

The Board of Directors consists of the President, President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President and up to 18 Directors for a total of 24 members. A candidate for the Board of Directors must be an active member of the Association at least one year prior to nomination. Directors serve a two-year term and can be reappointed. Only current members of the Board of Directors can serve as an officer. To be considered for an office, directors should have a good attendance record at meetings, and be actively engaged in board meetings and committees.  

Any active professional or organizational member of NACPRO is eligible to serve as a Director and hold office. Annual elections are held during NACPRO's annual meeting. If you are interested in serving, contact [email protected] to express interest.
